Running Playlist

As you know, I have recently got back into running. I have even started a training program for the Peachtree Road Race in July, which is a 10K. Of course, I haven’t been able to run at all in the last week because of the snow and ice.

Check out the ice on our street!

The ice is just now beginning to melt and yesterday was the first day that the roads were driveable. I am super clumsy when the roads and sidewalks aren’t covered in ice. There’s no telling how hurt I would get if I ran in these conditions.

I am itching to get back out there though as soon as the ice clears. This week, in order to prepare for my foray into running, I worked on my running playlist. I even downloaded some new music for the occasion.

Here are just a few songs on my running playlist:

Whataya Want From Me – Adam Lambert
Gives You Hell – All American Rejects
Jalapeno – Big & Rich
My Humps – Black Eyed Peas
Toxic – Britney Spears
Just the way you are – Bruno Mars
Undo It – Carrie Underwood
Forever – Chris Brown
Makes Me Want to Pray – Christina Aguilera
Candyman – Christina Aguilera
This – Darius Rucker
Dance, Dance – Fall Out Boy
Paralyzer – Finger Eleven
Faith – George Michael
Valerie – Glee Cast
Forget You – Glee Cast
In My Head – Jason Derulo
Wanted – Jesse James
Hot N Cold – Katy Perry
Teenage Dream – Katy Perry
Bulletproof – La Roux
Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say) – Lady Gaga
Just Dance – Lady Gaga
Jump – Madonna
Misery – Maroon 5
Love Today – Mika
The Way You Make Me Feel – Michael Jackson
Pocketful of Sunshine – Natasha Bedingfield
Funhouse – Pink
Life is a Highway – Rascal Flatts
Only Girl in the World – Rihanna
Streetcorner Symphony – Rob Thomas
I’m a Believer – Smashmouth
Hey, Soul Sister – Train

As you can see, I have quite the mix of music. Mostly top 40 stuff, but also some Country and some Rock. What do you think of my playlist? Are there any songs that I left out? I’m always looking for new ideas. πŸ™‚

  8. That’s a great playlist! I filled my iPod with slow music before my long run last weekend and keep forgetting to change it. I’ve had to do two speed workouts this week without my pump me up music!

Anyway, I’ve been digging Christina Perri (try Bang Bang Bang) and Dog Days Are Over by Florence and the Machine.

  9. Congrats on signing up for the 10K!! That’s awesome πŸ™‚

  10. Cool playlist! I’ve only exercised to music a few times, but I love it every single time I do. I feel so pumped and energized; it makes me wonder why I don’t do it more often!

  11. That’s a pretty awesome playlist!!!!
I’ve been wanting to start running this year! =D

  12. I hope your roads are clear soon! I always like Pink to pump me up, and of course a little MJ (like you already have) is a must!

  14. we have so many of the same songs!!!…. but you must add “Forget” You by Cee lo Green and Gonna Get Over You by Sara Bareilles ….these songs always put me in a good mood while im working out

  15. I love the peachtree! It’s always packed with the # of runners though. I love soul sister by the glee cast. A little accapella is always good

    • Katherine, I love Glee! I have a couple of songs by them on my playlist so I agree that a cappella is sometimes better. Last time I did the Peachtree, I walked most of it because of my lack of training. This time, I may walk some of it as well. I just love the supportive atmosphere though. πŸ™‚

  16. David Guetta’s “Memories” always gets me moving faster when I’m working out!

  17. thanks for stopping by my blog!

I have similar tastes in music but I get bored so easily with songs. Right now I am rocking to this: http://illegal-art.net/allday/. It’s a free downloadable mp3 that is a streaming mix of rock, rap, and pop. I have yet to get bored with it.
